My elderly Dad's leg suddenly swelled up just over 2 weeks ago and started weeping. It did not cause him undue discomfort. He obtained 4-a-day antibiotics and moisturising cream from his GP. After a 10-day course he was prescribed another 10-day course but although the leg is a little better and not weeping, it is still swollen and red. Today the other leg started to swell up. I am starting to think that this is a fungal infection which requires cream containing anti-fungals. Many years ago, Dad was in hospital with Athlete's Foot.

Hi--did your dad have Doppler flow studies to look at the veins in his legs?
