Hello, and thanks for your question. My name is Nick and I will help you today.

When and where did you purchase your Canon camera?

What have you tried so far?
Customer: replied 3 years ago.

I bought it at Jessops, Cardiff in 2011, as far as I remember. Product number= 0033X948

Thanks Bela.

We will try some steps to repair your camera. First, please remove the battery. Put battery back and turn on your camera. Then turn it off. Do the lens retract?

Bela,

Do you have any air can such as this?

Customer: replied 3 years ago.

yes, I have

Thanks Bela.

What we can try is to use this compressed-air can to spray the lens. There are 2-3 different parts of the lens. Spray each all around couple times. Then take battery out and put it back in. Turn on your camera and see if the lens will retract and work normally.
