I have a canon G9 for several years and it suddenly will on turn on properly. The screen says Lens Error restart camera but when i switch off and on again this just repeats the command, has a funny whiny noise then bleeps and repeats. Can you help??

Thank you for your question, my name is Richard.

Can you do the following please, as it is usually due to the Lens being jammed.

Lay the camera on its back and press the shutter release while turning on the power – this might trick the camera into moving the lens as it tries to focus while powering up – didn’t work for me though.

If ths does not work,

Blow compressed air around the lens to try to shift any particles clogging up the works.

that didn't work- don't have compressed air though.
