Hi, My name is Michelle and i will be assisting you
please let me know the make and model
please turn off printer and unplug power cord
now open the paper feed tray and output tray and blow some air
also if you have access to roller assembly at the rear blow some air
lift the printer and shake a bit
check if you are able to see the paper and pull it out
turn on printer without any paper in the feed tray and send a print commnad to printer
does it give you out of paper or paper jam message
also does any error code show up.
will a hair dryer work or shall I use a nozzle on a vaccum cleaner to suck?
try a hair dryer
is the paper visible
use a vaccum once the paper is visible
check the printing area where carriage moves if the paper is visible
going to get a hair dryer - tried vaccum but nothing visible yet
hair dryer should help ..also lift printer upside down and shake a bit to dislodge it if its stuck anywhere
have tried dryer and turning upside down nothing visible - going to try and put it on again
still nothing - even tried blowing and booting up at the same time with rollers whirring but still nothing
does it give a papaer jam message either on printer or computer
on both - it says on the printer 'paper output slot'
have you checked the paper output tray
yes - nothing
try vaccum on the output tray to check if it pulls out any paper
ok will do
still nothing - gave it a good blast with vac while rollers going around in output tray
is there any other panel to unscrew to access the insides?
how old is this printer
only about three years
yes i am looking
how small was the paper
was the entire paper jammed or it came out torned
no - it was a monopoly money bill about 4" by 1.5"! stupid me!!!
thats such a small size
i dont think its a recommended size even
now i am not sure where exactly it has got stuck
have a look at this generic video...its not for your specific printer moel
thanks - can I come back to you after seeing it?
else this would require disassembling the printer to see where exactly the jam is
as printers have multiple sensors only if you are sure about dissasembling, should you attempt it
else get the printer serviced through a service engineer at a local printer repair store
let me know if you have any questions
you may click on a smiley below if your question was answered else let me know and i will assist further
OK thanks but I need to be able to print today - can you help?
only suggestion would be that if its something urgent, get a print from a friends computer, who has a printer or maybe at a computer library
i would not be able to share a quick fix as this is not a software setting but a hardware fault
thank you for trying but it has not solved the problem
yes i know..in case we diagnose a hardware fault, i can only suggest the possible resolution but cannot fix it remotely
hope you understand
please ensure from next time that you cross check the paper size and change the paper settings on computer whenever trying to print on a different size paper
