My sx 280 camera is producing very poor images when shooting

Customer Question

My sx 280 camera is producing very poor images when shooting small antique objects at close range, 150 - 250mm. I have tried Av and Macro settings but the photos continue to be very poor on detail, seaming to be slightly out of focus. I am using a tripod, natural daylight and a 2 sec delay. They look fine on the camera screen but poor when viewed on my pc or tablet. I am downloading by USB cable using my pc's basic microsoft software.
I had the same problem with my previous cannon compact which I gave away in disgust only to find its replacement is just the same.
Any suggestions.
