heya sorry ..i've not connecting my camera few months but its now not recognising it

Ok, while we figure that out, does your computer or laptop have an SD Card slot?

nope it doesnt

Ok, so we are stuck with having to transfer them by USB then.

Has anything changed on your computer? Is it the same one that you used before?

I've used it before ..i guess its the usual updated Windows stuff

Ok. Let me look at something...hold on....

Ok, Go to this page: http://www.canon-europe.com/Support/Consumer_Products/products/cameras/Digital_SLR/EOS_1000D.aspx and download and install No. 9 in that list. This will update the driver and hopefully get you back in business.

Steve G. :

This will take time so I will convert his chat to a Q&A format which has not timer. Sound good?
