My MP250 printer is spitting out paper without printing.

Resolved Question:

Hi my MP250 printer is spitting out paper without printing.
I've tried all the cleaning recommended on the trouble-shooting page.
Everything worked except the print head alignment which only filled three quarters of a page (with very wonky colour stacks) and then stopped.
The printer either displays E.0.3 or E.0.2 as error codes.
Any advice would be much appreciated.
Thank you.

Hi K. Welcome to justanswer.

Both the codes signify that there is a jam. Turn off the printer and check for any bits of paper or any foreign material inside the printer.

Customer: replied 11 months ago.
I have already done that....can't see anything.
Expert:  nathan_mills replied 11 months ago.

Turn off the printer. Remove the power cord. Press the power button for about 30 seconds and then put the power cord back and turn on the printer and check

Customer: replied 11 months ago.
The printer printed a page 'Results of diagnosis and repair printer' .
some of the print on this page is missing, and some of it it printed with the top half of the sentence in the correct place, the lower parts of the words moved to the right.

Did you run any maintenance operations?

Customer: replied 11 months ago.
I'm a technophobe, so all I've managed is what was recommended by the 'trouble-shooting' page on my computer...nozzle cleaning etc. The 'print head alignment' was going well, with wonky blocks of colour being printed, but the process stopped at three quarters of the way through. Page wouldn't eject.

CHECK THIS OUT and remove the stuck page

Customer: replied 11 months ago.
Hello again.
there was no stuck page.
I just tried copying a leaflet and the print has come out wonky.
Expert:  nathan_mills replied 11 months ago.

Leave the printer turned off for about 10 minutes and then try. I will give a trick which you will need to do if the results come same again

Customer: replied 11 months ago.
Thank you.

Customer: replied 11 months ago.
Oh dear, this 2nd leaflet print is worse than the first...print is sloping down from left to right, and there are black (quarter inch wide) 'tracks' through it.
Customer: replied 11 months ago.
The error code is now flashing P.0.2
Expert:  nathan_mills replied 11 months ago.

Error P02 is again a paper jam or carriage error

Okay. Watch this video. CLICK HERE TO WATCH.

You will need a thick paper (Something like a cardboard)

Customer: replied 11 months ago.
Now there's no (P.0.2) error code but the 'on' button is flashing alternately with the 'lightning' (yellow) light.
Expert:  nathan_mills replied 11 months ago.

Watch the video and try to follow what is being shown. This will remove any paper feed problem, if that is the case.

Customer: replied 11 months ago.
I don't think it's paper feed (I followed the steps shown on a previous link), I think it's something to do with alignment.
Can I take the machine apart to investigate?
Expert:  nathan_mills replied 11 months ago.

Is it under warranty?

Customer: replied 11 months ago.
No, it's four years old now.
Expert:  nathan_mills replied 11 months ago.

If you want to dissemble the printer then do it at your own risk as it could damage the printer which can be beyond reasonable repair.

Customer: replied 11 months ago.
Probably not a good idea as I have no inkling what to look for.
Do you have any thoughts re. alignment? (as the print is coming out wonky)
Customer: replied 11 months ago.
Any idea why 'tracks' have been printed?
Expert:  nathan_mills replied 11 months ago.

Try the cardboard thing once. It works most of the times.

Expert:  nathan_mills replied 11 months ago.

Can you attach the image of the print so that I can see it?

Customer: replied 11 months ago.
Hi.
Phew! That was like reaching down the throat of a crocodile!
The cardboard kept concertina-ing so I tried a piece of laminated paper. It went through with a bit of a struggle.
Now the code E03 is back.
I'm sorry but I don't know how to attach the coloured blocks picture.
Expert:  nathan_mills replied 11 months ago.

Do you have the soft copy of the print with you? If yes, then mail me at***@******.***

Try pressing the Stop button (with red triangle inside a circle) for about 5 second to see if it makes the error disappear.

Customer: replied 11 months ago.
I just twigged...I could scan the leaflet and attach it.
But my printer won't let me!
Expert:  nathan_mills replied 11 months ago.

Press and hold the Stop button for 5 seconds and see. It should reset the printer

Customer: replied 11 months ago.
No luck I'm afraid.
It just ejected three sheets of paper in quick succession.
Expert:  nathan_mills replied 11 months ago.

Printed or blank?

Customer: replied 11 months ago.
Blank.
Expert:  nathan_mills replied 11 months ago.

The error is still there? If not then give a print command.

Customer: replied 11 months ago.
Yep. E03.
Expert:  nathan_mills replied 11 months ago.

Then I think you should take it to a local repair. I think most probably one of the roller got broke inside the printer. It will be a cheap repair.

Expert:  nathan_mills replied 11 months ago.

Would you like to rate me positively?

Customer: replied 11 months ago.
I just switched it off, then on again with no paper.
Managed to scan the wonky leaflet picture.
Will try my best to send this to you.
I agree that it sounds like something 'off' on one side.
Can you guide me to a repair place near to IG10 1TG?
Expert:  nathan_mills replied 11 months ago.

Check the attached image for the address of the repair shop.

And there are other options like these also.

This kind of print clearly shows that there is a roller issue which is causing misalignment while printing.
