Customer Question

we have a 5 year old yorkie, who for no reason will turn into a very aggresive little boy and attack one of our other yorkies, who he usually sleeps with, eats with and plays with, but when he turns he is nasty, he also growls and snarles at us if we pick him up during one of these turns, they seem to be getting more frequant as well. He has always been a very slow thinking boy who had a very bad start to life, but up untill about a year ago he has been fine, but now at night, or when we go out I have to put him in another room, just in case.

Dr.Barbara :

Hi, Welcome to JustAnswer. I'm a licensed veterinarian and I'll be happy to help. I'm sorry to hear about this problem with Benji and his sudden and more frequent personality changes. I bet there is an underlying medical problem like a type of seizure activity, back or joint pain, or decreasing vision. All of these would definitely cause what you are experiencing, and all, if addressed, could resolve his sudden aggression.

Dr.Barbara :

I really recommend that you pursue this as a medical problem and have your vet examine him.

Dr.Barbara :

Do you have any comments or questions? I'd love to hear from you.
