Hi thereIt is hard to evaluate the risk of pregnancy - she is in the most fertile period of her season but on the other hand 5 minutes with no observed tie with the male would be quite a short mating if it took place. With regards XXXXX XXXXX / removal of pregnancy, there is a drug available now called Alizin which is specifically designed for mismating. It can be used up until day 42 of pregnancy, although if used this late it is not an especially pleasant experience as you will see the bitch deliver the foetuses. We often use it early in the potential pregnancy. You need to leave at least a week after the observed / potential mating in order for it to be effective though. The process is to give 2 injections 24 hours apart and we would expect it to be about 98% effective. There is a small chance that the bitch can retain one or two foetuses so we often advise a scan at around the 28-35 day mark to see if one is present. However this has only happened to me once in the times I have used it. Regarding the bitches safety, we regard this as quite a safe drug to use, although it does cause some pain on injection. It doesn't affect future fertility.
It would be my suggestion that if you don't want the pregnancy to go to term to use the Alizin. Ih oe this helps and if you have any further questions about it please don't hesitate to ask.
What are the possible side effects with this drug please?
Sorry - just seen the rest of your answer and you have already covered this question.
