Good Morning and welcome. I am Dr. Loretta , a licensed veterinarian and am happy to answer your question.

I have a few questions to help me better assist you.

Is Freebie vomiting and having diarrhea?

Is she wanting to eat?

Does she appear depressed?

Thank you!

Sincerely, Dr. Loretta

Customer: replied 2 years ago.

Yes she is vomiting a little she seems constipated yes she is eating

Expert:  Dr. Loretta replied 2 years ago.
Thank you Mary for that information...it appears that Freebie may have a minor digestive disturbance that is causing this....it will make them drink more water and vomit. The constipation follows this condition as well....

For now follow these instructions:

Fast Freebie for 12-24 hrs to allow the digestive tract to calm down and heal.

Give Freebie Pepcid AC or Famotidine at 0.5 mg per pound every 8 hrs. That can be purchased over the counter at the pharmacy.

Give only small amounts of water during the fast or ice cubes

After the fast, feed rice and boiled chicken (2/1)

If Freebie ie feeling better wean her back to her diet, If the vomiting persists, take Freebie to your vet., I worry because of her age and the vomiting is the first sign of kidney disease and your vet can check this for Freebie.

Does that make sense to you, Mary?

Please let me know if you have ANY other questions. My goal is to give you 100% satisfaction and if you are not yet satisfied, please Reply so I can clarify for you

Sincerely, Dr. Loretta

She does not vomit a lot it seems her throat might be sore I saw her eating grass

Expert:  Dr. Loretta replied 2 years ago.
When they eat grass, Mary, this usually means that she is feeling nauseous even though she is not vomiting that much...the Pepcid AC will help with this....try this to see if it will help.
