Resolved Question:

I think my dog has eaten fungi that grows in our garden and it's called Saprophytic Fungi, what can I do if this is the case? She is not eating or drinking and seems restless, moving about a lot.

Doctor H :

Hi, this is Doctor H and I would be happy to help you.

Doctor H :

When did she stop eating and drinking?

Customer:

She was drinking this morning, but I think she stopped eating and drinkingn this afternoon when I left her outside for a bit

Customer:

Her nose is cold, and I don't know if that makes a difference

Doctor H :

And she's acting different than normal?

Customer:

Just much quieter than usual, sleeping a lot, but not that much different really

Customer:

Still alert and she has been to the toilet to do a wee actually. Maybe I am just freaking out too soon.

Doctor H :

What kind of food is she on? Do you have any wet food at home?

Customer:

She eats dry food and luncheon meat too, we don't give her tinned food

Doctor H :

Okay :) Have you offered her any lunch meat?

Customer:

Yes and she isn't interested.

Doctor H :

And no vomiting or loose stool?

Customer:

No to both and I actually just gave her some tiny bit of food and she ate it, hoorah!!

Doctor H :

Sweet. Continue to monitor and keep me updated.

Customer:

Thanks very much, nothing worse than a sick pet. Cheers

Doctor H :

You're welcome!
