Hi , I'm James DVM MRCVS and would like to help you with your question
Sorry to hear about Elvis .
Could you please tell me :
1. is that the first time such a thing has happened ?
2. is he suffering from any other condition (is he getting any medications) ?
no - a few months ago had pancreatitis
Is he eating and drinking fine ?
Any coughing or sneezing ?
Thank your for your answer.
There could be many things which could lead to this sudden presentation of Shivering
But TIA does not come first on my list as this is a reoccurring even most commonly and is due to other diseases in the background
AS Elvis is not a young boy , the list of possibilities grows longer but first we must eliminate to most common and harmless reasons
he seems fine now
For example - dogs can suddenly shiver when their electrolytes are off balance . this is something that can occur spontaneously which then the body acts quickly to re balance so the shivering stops . this is something which would be more visible in older dogs.
