I am sorry about Brodie's carsickness.
My name isXXXXX am a veterinarian, and will do my best to help.
There are tranquilizers like acepromazine that work well, but you can't get them over the counter.
There are some things you can try. Ginger root is very good for motion sickness, and nausea.
You can use fresh ginger, or get ginger capsules at a supplement, nutrition store
There is also "melatonin", also sold in supplement and "health food" type stores. It has a calming effect, and can make a dog drowsy.
You can try one or the other or both together.
I am not seeing responses from you. I hope you can see what I am writing!
I can try a different way to connect with you if I do not hear from you.
I have Melatonin , what amount would I be able to give Brodie and how often ?
I would start at 3 mg, but if that is not helping, you can give 6.
Give it as needed, it usually lasts 8 to 12 hours.
It is safe, and I always try it and the ginger before using drugs like the acepromazine.
Thankyou so much for your advice , I am a nurse who cah help sick people but not dogs .
You are welcome!
Please let me know if I can answer anything else.
I will be checking back, to see how he is doing.
Thats all for the moment thankyou and hope that Brodie is ok on the journey to Skye where he will enjoy lots of walks and new smells !
I hope it goes well.
