Welcome! I am Dr. Altman, a licensed veterinarian and I am happy to answer your questions.
You can use a saline flush for contact lenses to flush the eye out if Archie will allow you to
In addition, benadryl (diphenhydramine) human solution/ tablet at 1 mg/ pound every 8- 12 hours to help reduce the itch
If there is any haziness to the cornea, the swelling is not resolving and he is not able to open his eye by morning he might require medical attention in order to prescribe topical medication to resolve the issue
Saline flush for contact lenses will help flush out the eye of any debris and irritation and the benadryl will help with the irritation and discomfort as well
You can also use a cool compress on the eye to soothe the irritation
I am going to change formats in hopes you are able to view my responses
