Dr. Susan :

Hi, I can help you with your question today.

Dr. Susan :

Did Amber go home with any medications?

JACUSTOMER-x2etps3f- :

No

Dr. Susan :

OK. I would not expect her to have GI upset so suddenly 2 days after her surgery. This may just be coincidence.

Dr. Susan :

Did she get any unusual foods or treats yesterday?

JACUSTOMER-x2etps3f- :

No. Only the normal on both counts

Dr. Susan :

Good. What about foreign objects? Does she chew up toys or get into the garbage?

JACUSTOMER-x2etps3f- :

She has in the past but definitely not since Monday, she has only been out of someone's sight very briefly in 2 days. The vomit today was obviously yesterday's food with white foamy stuff,

Dr. Susan :

And where on her body was the mass removed?

JACUSTOMER-x2etps3f- :

Her mathering is constant, and I have never heard her do it before

JACUSTOMER-x2etps3f- :

Her sternum

Dr. Susan :

Based on everything that you've told me, I am worried that she has something unrelated to the mass removal and anesthesia. Since she is vomiting frequently, I do think we should move forward with diagnostic testing at this point.

Dr. Susan :

I recommend having her evaluated by your regular vet. I would start with a physical exam and likely x-ray of her abdomen.

JACUSTOMER-x2etps3f- :

Thank you very much, she is booked into the vet for her op follow up tomorrow mornin, should I take her in emergency tonight?

Dr. Susan :

I am worried since she is vomiting so violently and also because of the whining. I do recommend having her seen as soon as possible.

JACUSTOMER-x2etps3f- :

Thank you, ***** ***** take her tonight.

Dr. Susan :

JACUSTOMER-x2etps3f- :

She is also very cold, does that tell you something

Dr. Susan :

Did you take her temperature? If you have a digital thermometer (don't use a mercury thermometer) you can take her temp rectally. Normal is between approx. 99.5F and 102.5F.

JACUSTOMER-x2etps3f- :

But her nose is still moist

JACUSTOMER-x2etps3f- :

Don't have one, sorry. She just feels really cold

Dr. Susan :

That is concerning, but does not point me to a specific diagnosis.

JACUSTOMER-x2etps3f- :

Okay, I wll try to find an emergency vet. Thank you.

Dr. Susan :

You're welcome.
