Dr. Susan :

Hi, I can help you with your question today.

Dr. Susan :

I'm suspicious that what you are seeing could be due to nausea or neurologic dysfunction (like a seizure).

Dr. Susan :

Since everything else is normal at this time, I think we can address the possibility of nausea first.

Dr. Susan :

How much does Millie weigh?

JACUSTOMER-pcdr93u5- :

Would re ogmize seizures

JACUSTOMER-pcdr93u5- :

22 kgs

Dr. Susan :

Seizures are variable, they can be as mild as jaw snapping - what is termed chewing gum seizures.

Dr. Susan :

At 22 kg, you can start by giving 1 tablet of Pepcid (10mg famotidine) each evening before the hiccuping signs begin.

JACUSTOMER-pcdr93u5- :

Like petite mals in people

Dr. Susan :

Correct.

JACUSTOMER-pcdr93u5- :

Thanks, ***** ***** worried as she steals food not put away

Dr. Susan :

Since you have not seen any problems with vomiting or diarrhea, I'm not concerned about obstruction at this point.

When does she usually eat her dinner at night?
Customer: replied 2 years ago.

Around 5pm

Expert:  Dr. Susan replied 2 years ago.
OK, you can either give the Pepcid around 7 or 8pm, or you can offer a small amount of food at 9 or 10 pm. Either of these would be viable long term options if they prevent the hiccuping and lip smacking.
