I am sorry to hear you are worried about Fizz. I am a veterinarian, and will do my best to help.
How long has he been like this?
Sorry, she been like this?
If you look at her gums, are they pink in color, or do her gums look pale?
Shivering can be a sign of pain, fever, or anxiety.
Not eating can also be due to pain, internal illness, fever.
Could you take her rectal temperature at home?
I hope you can see what I am writing in this live chat! I am not seeing responses from you.
If I could, I would take her temperature, feel her lymph nodes and internal organs, check her gums, and go down her neck and spine trying to notice areas of tense muscles.
If her gums look pale, that is a sign she could be seriously ill.
You can also check for dehydration by gently pinching some skin over her shoulders and letting go. The skin should go right back in less than one second. If it takes longer, that is a sign that she is dehydrated.
I will try connecting with you another way, if I do not hear from you soon in chat.
gums are ok pinched her skin that is ok
That is good news. How long since she last ate and drank?
Can you take her temperature?
If she has pain or fever, aspirin may help. However, it should not be given on an empty stomach.
she had her tea last night but she will not eat today and drank a cup full of water,i forgot to mention she was at a grooming parlour on friday and got alot of hair cut off.
I wish I could examine her, check her temperature!
Having a hair cut could make her shiver, but should not cause her not to eat.
How much does she weigh?
I could give you a dose of aspirin to see if that helps, but you should try to get some food into her with it.
Good that she drank some water.
i am unable to take her temp, her nose is cold, but her tummy is warm and she is breathing ok.
If you want to try aspirin, tell me her weight.
Otherwise, I would monitor her, try to get her to take liquids like broth as well as water.
she weighs 2st 9 lbs
That is small for a Cocker! Not sure what you mean by 2st 9 lbs?
If she is 9 pounds, she would take 1/2 of a 81 mg aspirin, once to twice daily.
If she vomits, do not give any more aspirin.
I am sorry, still not sure of her weight!
is should have sent 18.6 kilos is her weight, sorry.
OK! She can take 180 mg of aspirin, which would be about 2 low dose (81 mg) aspirin, or 1/2 of a regular 325 mg aspirin, with some food if you can.
Try tempting her with things like baby food.
I see you tried to rate my answer! Let me know if I can help with anything else.
You should be able to rate me now.
thanks for your help we will try her with aspirin.
