On my Kobo Glo, the important update message keeps reappearing.

On my Kobo Glo, the 'important update' message keeps reappearing. I allow the update, but after completing the update the same message reappears. I can't close down the site.

I am sorry you are having problems with your Kobo.

Please remove it from the USB/Charging source, if it is connected to one.
Once you do that, please turn it over and find the small hole in the back.
Please carefully press it with a paperclip for 30 seconds or until you hear a click.

Please let me know if your Kobo is working after you do this.

The problem doesn't lie with the actual reader - it is the Kobo library that keeps coming up with the message about 'important update'. So your solution doesn't apply to the problem. The reader itself is working fine - it's the kob spftware that is causing me difficulties

On my computer I have a Kobo library where all my downloaded books are stored ready for downloading on to my reader. What should happen is I is plug in my reader, and the 'reader' icon comes on. Then I can press the sync buttoin and the books are downloaded on to my Kobk Glo reader. But the library site doesn't work, because every time I bring it up on my computer I get the same message: 'Important update - please install'. So I press the 'install' button', the update instals, and then the same message is still there. While it's up the whole thing freezes: I can't event click on the close 'x' at the top right hand corner, and none of the other buttons work

The problem lies on my 'Kobo Desktop'. In order to download books that I have bought, I click on the 'Kobo Desktop' icon, and the screen normally gives me the option to choose 'Library', 'Bookshop' or 'Reader'. But as soon as the desktop comes up, I get the 'update' message.

Let's remove, then install again.

Please press CTRL+D to bookmark this page, this way you can return after restart.

Click on Start, then Control Panel.
Click on Programs and Features or Uninstall a Program.

Scroll down to Kobo Desktop and Uninstall

Once it is uninstalled, please restart your computer.

Once your computer is restarted, please install Kobo Desktop again.

I have ownloaded the desktop using the link you gave me, but then I got a message saying 'unable to find file'
