my kindle has broken down

my kindle has broken down, the on off button will not stay on and the page is frozen, and the text is reversed. It was a Christmas present last year so is still under warranty

I'm sorry about the issue. Have you also tried this: If you have any cover on the kindle, please remove it for now. Then press & hold the power on/off button on the kindle for about 45 seconds, then check.

tried the power button, it will not stay on . The page is now black with white writing

I'm sorry, unfortunately, this is a hardware issue, but of course, Amazon will do warranty repair for you. In the mean time, do you have a computer, or tablet, or smartphone, etc.? If you need, I can show you how to read your books for now while waiting for the kindle to be repaired or replaced. Please let me know. Thank you

I do have a computer but is a desk top I cant take that on the train with me. ha ha . How can get my Kindle repaired!

Sorry that you do not have any other portable device. You can use the Kindle program to read on the desktop if you want to at some point.
