there is no message

they are still on website

reset by holding on off button for 40 secs till went blank then restart

No I can get to nothing except page which says archved items (190)

While charging the kindle, press and hold the Power on / off button for about one minute this time, then what happens?

Do you mean on the page with archived items (190), it won't let you do anything at all?
