Hi Freddy, I'm using Windows 8. Just to give a bit more background, whenever I reinstall, it appears that the printer is connecting to WiFi (I.e. the correct lights show) but then can't communicate. When I print a status report from the printer, it also shows it is connected to WiFi and shows the right hub etc. I tried using a USB cable and get the same problem when it tries to connect during the installation, so haven't completed the installation with that either.
Yep, it searches for a device and then just timesout and gives an error message.
I'm unable to provide that info at the moment (I'm at work). Is it okay to respond later in the day? (I'm new to the website)
I've just tried again and the printer definitely connects to the WiFi, but when the setup then tries to find the printer, I don't get an error code, just this:
Wi-Fi Auto Connect failed to setup within the time limit.
1. Check the following:
- Check the Wi-Fi Auto Connect setup procedures on the printer's control panel.
- If the printer is a long way from the computer, move it closer to the computer.
2. Click "Back".
3. Follow the on-screen instructions to make the settings again.
TBH, the USB error is pretty much the same; no error codes but it just says "unable to locate printer".
It seems the professional has left this conversation. This happens occasionally, and it's usually because the professional thinks that someone else might be a better match for your question. I've been working hard to find a new professional to assist you with your question, but sometimes finding the right professional can take a little longer than expected.
I wonder whether you're OK with continuing to wait for an answer. If you are, please let me know and I will continue my search. If not, feel free to let me know and I will cancel this question for you.
Thanks for your patience,
