The only solution I see to your dilemma is a Scart to HDMI converter --

https://www.google.com/search?q=UK+scart+to+hdmi+converter&rls=com.microsoft:en-us:IE-SearchBox&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&sourceid=ie7&rlz=1I7GGLL_en

Unfortunately a lot of manufacturers are being forced to completely convert to HDMI because of an agreement that Hollywood and TV manufacturers came to back in the Mid-2000's when Hollywood sued for copyright protection about a week before HDMI was going to be introduced.

This really is the only solution we have been able to suggest, not only to you but to US customers too.

We're both going through it together.
