I have a Digitech RP12. It seems to be working ok but has odd characters in the display. Even on power up the word 'DigiTech' isn't displayed properly. It reads 'DmgmTegl'.A patch that was named 'Cleen Steel' now reads 'Gleen$Wteel$'.It seems like some of the letters are moved up the alphabet by 4 steps. The internal battery is ok. I also initialised it.
Hi Pete, Thanks for your help. I have checked out all wiring and solder joints. I have been searching the Internet for a display board. LM1140SYL is on the board. Is this the board number? Littlediode.com have that part number listed but it is described as a semiconductor. There is no image for it. Have you any idea where I can get a board and a schematic. Is the board specific to Digitech or used in other equipment. Also how can I be sure the right data is being sent to the display board? Any help will be appreciated.
LM1140SYL is the part number for a diode.
The display board is a DigiTech custom part.
You can get a replacement board from DigiTech - (801) 566-8800
Not sure if they will also give you the schematics though, but it's worth asking for anyway.
I contacted DigiTech and the board is no longer available. They did send me a schematic. I am now working on the idea of connecting some sort of display to it so I can be sure it will fix the problem. I have a display for a Korg GT-3 that I am thinking of trying. I have schematics for both. I will let you know how that goes and take it from there.
