My Epson XP-405 printer gives predominantly pink/yellow tones

Customer Question

My Epson XP-405 printer gives predominantly pink/yellow tones for all pictures, maps, etc. How do I fix this?

Firstly, I would check the ink levels:

Select Setup > Ink Levels

If any are indicated as being very low or exhausted (warning triangle) then that may be the problem and you will need to replace this.

Secondly, it might be that the Print Head needs cleaning:

Select Setup > Maintenance > Nozzle Check

If the pattern printed is poor:

Select Head Cleaning > Start

It may be necessary to run the Head Cleaning up to 4 times.

Let me know if this helps, if not I'll investigate further.

I have tried cleaning the printer head. It's a new printer with almost full new cartridges. The BLUE ink just isn't working.

It appears to be a print head fault and probably needs replacing. As it's a new printer, and presumably under warranty, I would recommend contacting the supplier as soon as possible regarding a complete replacement or refund.

Have you managed to resolve this, or do you require any further assistance?

It might also be that the blue cartridge is simply faulty, so it might be worth trying a new one.

Best Regards,
