There are a few ways to move your contacts and calendars over to your new phone.

In an online account>

 

Set up the account on your Windows Phone and your info should automatically sync. This works for Google, Outlook.com, Facebook, and other common account types.

On your computer you can use Outlook, you can sync contacts and calendars between your computer and your new phone.

<>On a SIM<>

If both your old phone and your new phone use a SIM card, you can often move it to your new phone to import your contacts.

To do the transfer via the Sim Card> Please follow these steps on your Samsung>

    1. Power your phone off.
    2. Remove the battery cover
    3. Remove the battery.
    4. Insert the SIM card.
    5. Replace the battery.
    6. Replace the battery cover.
    7. Press down around the edges of the battery cover to snap it into place.
    8. Power your phone back on.
    9. From the home screen, tap .
    10. From the "Contacts" tab, press the Menu key, and then tap More.
    11. Tap SIM Management.
    12. Tap Copy contacts to SIM.

 

  • Select the desired contacts, and then tap Copy.
  • A confirmation screen will be displayed. Tap OK.
  • .
  • Then follow these steps on your Nokia>

 

  1. Turn your phone off.
  2. With the back of the phone facing you, place your thumb on the back of the phone next to the camera lens. At the top left corner, put your thumbnail in the seam between the screen frame and the back cover. Bend the cover until a side seam opens slightly.
  3. Repeat on the other corner, and remove the cover.
  4. If the battery is in, lift it out.
  5. Insert the SIM card by pushing the SIM into the card slot until it locks into place. Make sure the contact area is face down.
  6. Line up the battery contacts, and replace the battery.
  7. Press the bottom edge of the back cover against the bottom edge of the phone, and then press the back of the cover until it snaps into place.
  8. Turn your phone on.
  9. From the Start screen, tap People
  10. Tap , and then select Settings.
  11. Tap Import SIM contacts.
  12. Select the desired contacts, and then tap Import.
    NOTE: Contacts with a checkmark are selected.
  13. Once the contacts are imported, the "Last import" date will be displayed.

my new nokia won't switch on. i will contact them tomorrow for a replacement. I've downloaded a few apps. a couple of hours ago.


now it wont switch on. it will take about two days for a replacement.

Okay,
This is usually just a glitch in the software and the phone needs to reboot>
try this: Press and hold both the Volume down and the Power keys for 15 seconds. This should get your phone to restart properly again.
