Hi,Thank you for using just answer my name is Carl and i will try and help with your question.Does your tv work ok with other HDMI devices? I will do some research and get back in touch with you.IS your tv a samsung?
My tv is a Samsung ue46c5530. I do not have any other hdmi device to try but the talktalk engineer tried to use the hdmi facility but would not work. The tv is about 18 months old.
Thank you I will research it and get back to you shortly.
I am having trouble locating a manual for your tv please could you check the model number it should be on a small sticker on the left edge of your tv or on the back.
Sorry - finger trouble Model is;- ue46c6530uk
When the youview box is on hdmi do you get an error message on the tv
Like out of range
Is your tv connected to the internet?
Yes, initially "searching for signal" then "check source, cable, power supply" etc but no other display. The tv is connected to the internet. I have been through all of these options on each hdmi socket but no sucess. As I have already said the talktalk engineer went through all options and came to he conclusion that the hdmi inputs were not active. I do have a Panasonic sound system using hdmi but this is for audio only and this works satisfactorily. I have tried to update the tv software but there is no update available.
I was about to ask you to check for updates. Sometimes low quality hdmi leads cause problems. It is unlikely the hdmi ports are inactive i think it is more to do with something called handshaking. Do you have a hdmi lead connected to your audio system? I am going to have a look at my youview box to see if we can change hdmi setting on it
Yes I have an hdmi lead connected to the Panasonic audio system plugged into hdmi2 - it works on all four hdmi connections. Both my hdmi leads work on the Panasonic audio system but neither work on the Youview. The Youview came with an hdmi lead.
I have had a look and you can reduce the HDMI settings on the youview box did the engineer try this?
