Customer Question

Hi, I have a Samsung ah68-02206c blu ray system which ejects disc randomly I have tried everything I can think of to fix this to no avail. Any advice on what is causing this and how to fix it as my only remaining option is to scrap it?

Hello,
Welcome to JustAnswer!
I am Pete, and I'll be happy to assist with your question.

Random ejection may be caused by a sticking Eject button, either on the remote control or on the system itself.
Try removing any remote controls from the room that can be used to control the Samsung BluRay system, and monitor it for a while to check if it is still ejecting randomly. If it does, then the problem is with the unit itself, and it will need to be disassembled to test and repair the Eject button.

This model does not have an eject 'button' as it has a touch sensitive interface. The remotes are fine as I tried using the player last night with no batteries in the remote as I already considered that possibility.

Hi Andrew,

Contamination on the touch interface can trigger the eject mechanism.

Try cleaning the touch sensitive panel.

Customer: replied 3 years ago.
Hi, the unit is clean no dust or any residue of any kind on the panel.
Expert:  Pete replied 3 years ago.
Hi Andrew,
If the touch panel is clear of any residue, then the touch membrane may be damaged, or there may be an internal fault with the electronics or the eject mechanism.
If you can open the box, you can temporarily disconnect the touch membrane, then try operating the system with the remote control again.
If the disc no longer ejects randomly, then this indicates that the touch panel or membrane has a fault.
