Welcome to JustAnswer!
I am Pete, and I'll be happy to assist with your question.
It can be difficult to track down the source of this type of problem.
It may be due to the distance between the TV and the NAS, or interference on the wireless signal.
If possible, try moving the TV and NAS closer together if they are connected wirelessly.
If you are using a cable to connect the TV and NAS, let me know exactly how they are wired, e.g. using CAT5 cable from each device to a router, or are you using Powerline adapters?
the equipment is hardwired to the router via a switch which i know is working properly as other equipmnt is working ok but i h ave also connected the tv and nas drive directly into the router and still nothing.
the tv does pick up my pc in my office at home which is connected via wifi.
it did work correctly.
im asking my it people to recheck my router settings although the problem seems to be with the tv.
i received a message from the tv this morning. it said "DLNA server not found. please ensure that:-
The DLNA device (server) is configured and connected to share content.
The TV is connected to the home network".
i turned off the DLNA server on the TV. Powered it down by switching it off and unplugging the mains cable. ithen powered it up, turned on the DLNA and it still only found my PC and not my Synology Nas Drive. it also found my Acer Tablet.
I have also tried installing plex on the Nas but it has made no difference.
Did your IT people check the router settings again?
If the NAS is the only device that cannot be detected by the TV, they will need to ensure that it has a static IP address from the correct range, then try connecting to it again.
