Thank you for your question, my name is Richard.

Can you do the following please.

Go to Settings, Wifi, tap on the BTwifi, and select forget.

Hold the power on the Tab and wait till the menu shows, and choose Power Off.

Then remove the power from the BT Internet Router (the wifi box from BT) and wait 5 minutes.

Plug in the power and wait 5 minutes for it to start.

Then turn on the Tab, go to Settings, Wifi and connect again to your wireless network.

When you have, tell me if you can now get your emails, or open the internet (to browse web pages).

Let me know the results please

What happens when you open the internet browser on the Tab Neil?

And is this a BT Home Hub you have?

Customer: replied 3 years ago.

I log in with my ID and pass word and it comes back to check my username and pass word. I know I have entered the correct info.

It is a BT home hub

It would only say it is incorrect if it was.

Have you contacted BT to verify your details?

and you do note this is a public hotspot you are connecting to correct? Do you have a service for this from BT?
