TV-Tech1 :

Hello, I'm TV Tech1 and I'll be working with you to identify and help you resolve your problem.

JACUSTOMER-6zqzfs2h- :

the link did not work, but my basic question was that after retuning my view box I lost minimum of 10 stations, I have tried retuning on numerous occasions and my ariel was only fitted 18 mnths ago, I was hoping there was a way I could manually retune it or something, it is the higher end channels I lost from 16 upwards

JACUSTOMER-6zqzfs2h- :

are you still in chat?

TV-Tech1 :

Yes, I just received a response from you. If you lost Channels 17 and higher, it sounds like the tuner may be bad, or it's possible the Tuner is set for the wrong channel type. There's DVB or Air channels, or Cable tuning that you should be able to select, and while the channel numbers are the same on both, they actually select different tuning bands on your TV set.

TV-Tech1 :

I don't know your TV's brand name or the model number found on a sticker on the right edge or on the back of your TV. If you can find that, I may be able to give you more details. I do suggest you save this page in your web browser so you can directly access this page you're looking at.

JACUSTOMER-6zqzfs2h- :

Samsung smart model name ue40d5500 / ue40d5520

TV-Tech1 :

I seem to be having the same issues maintaining a lock on your question. While you are watching the TV channels, access your TV menu, see if the Plug and Play setting is lit up. Access it, and rescan your TV channels. If you are using an aerial, select AIR or DVB-T. Select Cable if you are connected to Cable TV and let it rescan your channels. UE in your model number indicates the TV is built for the European Union, I was expecting your model to start with the letters UA. Is this a first time setup on your TV, or have you been using it in the UK for quite some time now?

JACUSTOMER-6zqzfs2h- :

is the name and model not helping you any? there is no dvb, air channels or cable, we don't have these options.

TV-Tech1 :

It helps somewhat, your actual location states you are in the United Kingdom, and the model number you gave me tells me it is a Samsung TV set. UE50D5000 or 5020 tells me it's a series 5 TV set. Yesterday, your TV was working, but today something did change. I'm trying to figure that out

JACUSTOMER-6zqzfs2h- :

yes I am in Scotland and it wasn't yesterday lost channels it was around 5 days ago.

JACUSTOMER-6zqzfs2h- :

please send email when you figure it out as have to go to work now.

TV-Tech1 :

Ok, it's possible that Scotland's aerial Tv channels may have made some channel changes...in your Tv's MAIN menu -- Do you see a Channels Icon or a Setup Icon? The PLUG AND PLAY setting should be in the SETUP ICON. I think that one looks like a toolbox, maybe 3 ICONS down from the top of the icon list on the left side of your menu. That's the one you really want to try out to reload new changes in lost TV ;channels. It erases the old TV channel data, then searches for all channels, and it asks you if you are on AIR/Digital Channels or Cable/Digital channels. If you don't have Cable/Satellite TV, you must have an indoor/outdoor Aerial type antenna and you are only receiving the TV stations locally.
