Hi, welcome to Just answer
How old is it ?
Please tell me its complete model number
It's about two years old
Have you tried another socket ? Is the power cable fine ?
yep tried in another room but still the same and definitely power because the red led is on
OK...the red led indicates power is going to the unit however, as it wont turn on it seems that the problem is with the power board or with the voltage needed by the circuits in the power supply of the unit. A broken or blown diode or resistor serving as bridge or holder of required needed voltage can cause the problem....how good are your DIY skills ?
can you take off its rear and check the power board ?
I took the back off yesterday but I can't get at any thing because the wire too the screen is too short to get my hands in
Basically repairing and solving this problem by yourself is not very easy since some parts inside the unit needs to be tested, replaced, soldered ,screwed....usually the voltage is still in there even when turned off...if you still want to check it yourself...check this Image ...this is the main board which has to be tested/checked
I take a look now
let me know how it goes
I know have the back off and away from the screen
OK, please check the board for any blown components
Ok give me a few mins
All seems to be fine
on the board ?
do you have a multimeter ? can you test few things ?
Yep and I don't have one
OK, a new board will cost around £35...however, these parts are covered under 2 to 5 years of warranty..you will have to check with the manufacturer..you can contact 0844(NNN) NNN-NNNNto book a local repair engineer
Ok thanks for your help
