My Nexus 7 will not connect - the Google app says "sign in

My Nexus 7 will not connect - the Google app says "sign in error". Wifi/hub signals are excellent. I'm not sure if maybe it's locked? Has been like this a couple of days. How can I rectify this?

As I said, it's my Nexus 7 tablet. Nothing Google works, no updates, not able to access internet on any app on tablet. No Google play, and etc. Just comes up with "Connection timed out" so I can't access Google assist to help.

are you able to connect to the wifi router and browse other websites fine?

Customer:

According to the Settings app, wi fi router is connected and excellent signal strength I am at home and using main router). I am not able to browse any websites on the tablet - it's like it's frozen.

michelleclive :

that means its connected via wifi 802.11 but unable to communicate with the dns server to access internet.

michelleclive :

hold down the power buttom on the nexus for 5 to 10 seconds

michelleclive :

let the power be turned off

Customer:

No. I've tried this a couple of times - it makes no difference.

michelleclive :

connect the power adapter back and let the router boot it will take 2 mins to boot too.

michelleclive :

then try connecting

michelleclive :

let me know if that helps

Customer:

OK. Should I turn it off before doing this?

michelleclive :

turn off the nexus tab first and then the router, after few mins plug the router power on and wait for 2 mins till it boots up then turn the nexus tab and try to connect and surf the internet.

That seems to be OK now. Thank you.
