Hello I have a samsung series 5 laptop. I turned it on

Resolved Question:

Hello I have a samsung series 5 laptop.

I turned it on yesterday and although the power comes on and the dvd drive and fan works it is not booting up at all.

The harddrive light does not come on and the screen is totally blank.

is my hardrive broke or is there a disconnection somewhere its just odd that there are no messages whatsoever.

it is only 18months old.

I would welcome any suggestions.

thanks mark

Customer:

Okay giving it a go now

Randy :

ok,

Customer:

it came on and went off nothing came up on the screen

Randy :

ok, try this while pressing the power button repeatedly tap the f2 button.

Randy :

press the power button and release and then tap the f2 several times for about 10 seconds.

Customer:

Power is on but its not booting up

Randy :

okay, is the screen still black?

Customer:

Yes it is

Randy :

okay, try this press power and release then press F4 repeatedly to try and access the Samsung Recovery Solution

Customer:

Nothing is happening

Randy :

okay, unfortunately this sounds like a screen failure or an hard drive failure. If you have an external monitor you can rule out the screen.

Customer:

I don, t have an external monitor but I could try and connect it to the tv with hdmi cable to check??

Randy :

yes, that will be good.

Customer:

No signal from the laptop to tv

Randy :

okay, unfortunately then you are experiencing a hardware failure. To fix this problem, you need to have your notebook serviced.

Customer:

Okay thanks for your time
