how do I get rid of an echo effect between a new Samsung TV

how do I get rid of an echo effect between a new Samsung TV and another old TV in the adjoining room, thenew one is a 42inch and the old one is a 17 inch

yes via sky box and control by sky hand set what comes on the new tv comes on the old tv

OK, actually the echo affect produce due to difference of time to process the sound signal because of different sound processor chip in both TV.
Can you please tell me how the Sky box connected to what TV then how the other TV gets Sky signals? I mean connection setup info will help to find a way.

the main tv is connected the sky box by hdmi leads and the other TV is connected by coax cable from the sky box

ah OK, so Sky box sends the signal to both TV, is it possible to connect old/other TV through AV cable instead of coaxial cable?

I'm sorry for that, as I explain the echo affect is due to time difference of signal processing in both TV as one gets already processed signal directly from Sky box and other gets modulated signal through coax then demodulate it then process it that takes more time than the direct AV signal so this creates echo.
