I have just purchased an A3 Mustek 3400S scanner. My operating

I have just purchased an A3 Mustek 3400S scanner. My operating system is OS X 10.10.
However the software won't install. It just keeps on saying when I try to instal the driver
"Require Mac OS X 10.6 or later."
I also am unable to power up the scanner. It is plugged into the Mac as well as the power source. Any thoughts before i RETURN THIS ITEM.

It is not showing any signs of life. Plugged in correctly, all cables connected properly.

That's what I thought. I'll probably have to return it. Second time this has happened, last one was the same. The disc which accompanied the scanner also is saying that I should have 10.6 or later. I have 10.10.

Wondering if it's a bad batch of scanners that are with Amazon due to there being no power.

yes if this has happnened before there is a possibility of a bad batch

you can check at any local store and if you get this same model at same price, opt for it as with local stores, exchanges are done there and then

In case you still wish to go in for this same model, you need to install 2 different drivers in the sequence listed
i will mention the links
copy then in address bar of your browser to open them

link 2: http://www.mustek.com.tw/apprg/showdriverinfo?LID=2&PRODUCTID=SE_A3USB2400Pro&LSID=34
installing the 2 would do the trick of not getting recognised as a 10.10 version
