Pete :

Hi there!

Pete :

What is the model number of your Panasonic TV?

Pete :

What devices do you have connected to it? (e.g. Sky box, aerial, DVD player)

Customer:

50 inch Panasonic flat screen tv

Pete :

What is the full model number, as shown on the rear of the TV?

Customer:

TXp50X60B

Pete :

What devices do you have connected to it? (e.g. Sky box, aerial, DVD player)

Customer:

none

Pete :

Ok, then that is why there is the NO SIGNAL message..

Customer:

it used to be used just for X box but now we put it on wall to use as Tv

Pete :

You will need to connect an aerial to it to get a signal.

Customer:

Yes, an aerial was connected to it, we got a pixcellated picture

Pete :

Ok, did you re-tune it?

Customer:

yes

Pete :

The digital broadcast signals have changed in most regions recently, so a re-tune will be required if the TV has not been used in some time.

Pete :

Are you using a small indoor aerial, or an outdoor one?

Customer:

an outdoor roof aerial, the small tv works and this one doesnt

Pete :

Ok, then possibly the aerial connection is loose or making an intermittent connection with the TV, or there are some loose strands of copper from it; or the tuner inside the TV is bad.

Pete :

Try it on a different aerial -if it is bad there too, then the built-in tuner has failed.

Customer:

what do I do about a built in tuner that has failed? Do I need a new tv?

Customer:

tv signal quality is good

Customer:

can it be mended

Pete :

Yes, the digital tuner board can be replaced.
