Unplug the charger and then press and hold down the power button on the nexus for 30 seconds
release the power button and now connect the charger and again press and hold down the power button for 20 seconds this time
remove the charger and wait for 30 seconds now
plug back the charger and let it charge for at least an hour this time.
do not miss out to follow the sequence of steps i have given.

Sorry but that is common procedure for a reset and was the first thing i tried as it is stated in the manual.
If you have tried the reset method then you must contact samsung service center near your aread as the product is under warranty
