I have a DVD Recorder Model No.DMR-EZ47VEB. I switch it on

Resolved Question:

I have a DVD Recorder Model No.DMR-EZ47VEB. I switch it on and get HELLO then READ and then a flashing UNFOR MAT. I can find no reference to this in the Operating Instructions and cannot get rid of it or start the recorder. Please advise.

the message UNFORMAT indicates that there is a disc inserted in the recorder that is not supported\ not formatted or was recorded on another device

michelleclive :

please remove any disc that is inserted

michelleclive :

turn off unit

michelleclive :

unplug power cord

michelleclive :

keep the ON button on unit pressed for 10 secs

michelleclive :

plug in power cord and turn on unit( no disc should be inserted)

michelleclive :

let me know if it still gives the unformat message

ok now insert any other disc than the one that was there in previously

check if it repeats the error

michelleclive :

if the unit does not repeat the same error and operates normally then the disc that was inserted initially has a corruption or compatibility issue with the player and would need to be formatted. in case its a blank disc, format it to use it. if it has some content on it, i would suggest to transfer content onto another storage medium like maybe a computer.

however if the unit does not operate normally let me know and i will suggest further accordingly
