Samsung UE40ES5500. Hard-wired thru mains (TP-link powerline

Resolved Question:

Samsung UE40ES5500. Hard-wired thru mains (TP-link powerline adapters) to modem/router.
Been working fine for 2 years or more, but now getting Network Connection error.
Checked and re-seated all connections from router to tv. Cold re-boot of everything.
The Internet from same router to a PC is working ok.
Tried direct connection from router into TV, eliminating adapters, - still get the same error.
Will a firmware update help or is this a genuine fauilt?

Yes. I mentioned that in my message.

Whats the make and model of the network router?
Customer: replied 2 years ago.

TP-link W8951 ND.

I have 2 PC's connected to the internet through it as well as the TV.

This reply is coming via that router.

Customer: replied 2 years ago.

IP 192.168.1.2

Gateway 10.11.1.217

Expert:  Richard replied 2 years ago.
Thanks
Who is your internet provider? Virgin?
Customer: replied 2 years ago.

Plusnet

Expert:  Richard replied 2 years ago.
ok, the values you gave me cannot be though as the gateway is in another ip range then the IP address
how is the computer connected to the router?
Customer: replied 2 years ago.

ethernet cable

Expert:  Richard replied 2 years ago.
ok, with those settings you should not be getting internet
Do the same on the second computer and tell me the values
Customer: replied 2 years ago.

OK. It takes ages to boot up, so we'll have to wait for that.

Meanwhile, if I tell the TV to check the network connection after the error appears, it comes up with

IP 192.168.1.3

Gateway 192.168.1.1

If that's of any help.

Expert:  Richard replied 2 years ago.
not yet, as the computer is very strange, having the 10.11 address
I want to see what the other PC says
Customer: replied 2 years ago.

Other PC

IP 192.168.1.6

DF gateway 192.168.1.1

Expert:  Richard replied 2 years ago.
ok, that makes sense.
Not sure about this computer though showing that address
On the TV, whats the DNS server it displays?
Customer: replied 2 years ago.

same as the DF gateway

192.168.1.1

Expert:  Richard replied 2 years ago.
ok change it to
4.2.2.2
Save, power TV off then on and tell me if it now connects please
Expert:  Richard replied 2 years ago.
Stop Glenn, my collegues informed me the Samsung central server is down.
This is why, they are working on it as we speak.
We need to allow a few hours for them to bring this up
But its not your TV
Customer: replied 2 years ago.

lol ok. :)

The problem occurred starting yesterday - does that co-incide with the samsung problem?

Expert:  Richard replied 2 years ago.
yes, Samsung only just admitted it as we speak, while I was on your case.
Looks like they tried to solve it without anyone knowing it was them that caused it.

What happens now? Do I just wait for samsung to get things going, or what?

Expert:  Richard replied 2 years ago.
yes, then it just works on your TV once the server is up.
You wont need to do anything on your end.
Thanks for the link too
