Did you see your network, tap it and tap connect?
Customer: replied 2 years ago.

took steps required tapped on wifi nothing happened

Expert:  Richard replied 2 years ago.
Ok, I am not really clear when you say nothing happened, but it appears the firmware is corrupted and we will have to do a reset of the device to reinstall the firmware.
This will remove all data and return the nexus to new, but you cannot avoid this.
To do the reset, Open the Settings menu on your device.
Under "Personal," touch Backup & reset.
Under "Personal data," touch Factory data reset.
When prompted, touch Erase everything to erase all data from your device's internal storage.
When your device has finished erasing, select the option to reboot your device.
Then set up the Nexus and it should now connect to your wireless network.
Let me know the results please
