Can you unlock a pioneer navgate AVIC F840BT without me having to take whole unit out. Halfords took system out, now it needs a password ***** I don't have. Wasn't passed on from last owner?

Can you try to reset it this way please
Turn the ignition off and then on
Press and hold the Mode button and the TCK << button while the splash screen appears
The Select Items to Reset screen appears
Touch Reset
Touch Yes and this should reset it and allow you to enter a new PIN
Let me know the results please

Yes, by splash screen you mean navgate screen.

Yes that come on. Then goes straight to enter password. Mode and Turk arrows don't do anything.

ok, this is the only way you will be able to reset it Julie, not sure why its not working, it may be an issue with the firmware. Are you ok to take it out and flash it with a new firmware? As this is the only other step you have to do now.

You need to install a new firmware on the navigation system in order to reset it, as you cannot reset it via the instructions I provided.

This resets it back to new.

Correct, and no, any SD card of at least 4GB or more will be ok Julie.
