Samsung ue46es8000 smat tv the tv is stuck in start up mode

Resolved Question:

samsung ue46es8000 smat tv
the tv is stuck in start up mode with the source info on the left showing hdmi1/dvi and the info box in the middle of the screen saying NO Signal.
will not respond to any buttons pressed on remote. cant even switch it off except by main lead at socket. then when i plug it back in the tv comes straight on to that screen again and can do no more with it. help

How long have you owned the TV? This might be a silly question, but have you made sure that the batteries in the remote are working?

I would definitely recommend a factory reset...you need the actual "button" remote to do this..not the touchscreen remote. Do you have one of the "button" type remotes?

Hi A. Sorry I dissappeared last. I have done a reset. My problem is that TVs does not recognise hdmi inputs. Just get the no signal message

Yes. And the smart hub works. And tv mode works. When I go to source it will not recognise anything plugged into an hdmi socket

Tried all the ports. No joy. Usb ports work ok

If the reset does not work...most likely a component inside the TV has failed. In this case you can contact Samsung Customer care to request a repair or possibly replacement. This may or may not come with a cost just dependent on Samsung's decision. I have seen them still repair products out of warranty so it is worth a shot. Calling from a mobile phone may cost more.
