Hello Graham! Thank you for your question. I will be assisting you today.

I'm sorry about the issue. If you had not done this yet, please try to press & hold the Power on / off button on the Kobo Vox for about 30 seconds, then turn it back on and check.

- If that does not work, the operating system software is corrupted. Please do a factory reset on the kindle, then you can reload your books and apps.

1. Go to menu / Settings.
2. Select Privacy.
3. Select "Factory Data Reset."
4. Select Confirm to erase everything.
5. Wait a few minutes, and the Kobo will reboot.
6. Follow the on-screen setup instructions.
7. Log into your Kobo account when prompted.
8. If needed, sync your library in order to download your books, etc.

- If that still does not work, please try:

  1. Turn off your Kobo Vox by holding the Power button (on the top of your Kobo Vox) for 10 seconds.
  2. Press and hold the Volume Up button (labeled with a + (plus) sign) on the left-hand side of your Kobo Vox. Do not let go.
  3. While holding the Volume Up button, press and release the Power button on your Kobo Vox.
  4. Continue holding the Volume Up button until you see “Resetting your Kobo eReader” on your Kobo Vox screen.
  5. Release the Volume Up button.
  6. Wait for your Kobo Vox to restart. The Welcome screen will appear after your Kobo Vox restarts. This takes about a minute.

Please let me know. Thank you.
