Customer: replied 2 years ago.

Hi Richard

They use to work before. Once I have cleaned my PC it stopped working. It's plugged in the same place as before.

Can you tell me the make and model of the PC and where you have plugged the speakers into?
Customer: replied 2 years ago.

Its a HP G5135UK

I plugged the speakers in the audio outlet

Expert:  Richard replied 2 years ago.
Can you plug headphones into the same outlet and tell me if you hear sound please.
Make sure its the Audio OUT outlet.
Let me know the results please
Customer: replied 2 years ago.

For the headphones i use the USB port so cant use the same outlet

Expert:  Richard replied 2 years ago.
ok, you see on the front of the computer two stereo jacks, one is for the microphone and the other for the headphones.
Plug the speakers into the headphone port and tell me if you get sound please.
Customer: replied 2 years ago.

That's where it was always plugged but it doesn't work since I had the reboot. At the bottom of my screen where it shows the speaker icon, there is a red circle with a cross.

Thank you
Click on the Speaker icon and move the level to the top as this usually means its muted.
Then do you hear sound?
Customer: replied 2 years ago.

By clicking on the icon, it doesn't give me access to the sound level. It goes onto the trouble shooting and then fails.

Download and install the audio driver from my link below
http://tinyurl.com/q342jw8
You have to run the file.
Install it, restart the computer and tell me if the sound now works please.
I can also do these steps for you, and have made a request via Additional Services. This is optional, and if you choose to do this, I can, with your permission, remote into your computer while you watch and do all these steps (and deal with any problems that arise during them) for you. Or if you do not choose to take this service, we can continue here. This is no problem at all. Just let me know please.

Expert:  Richard replied 2 years ago.

Let me know the results please
Customer: replied 2 years ago.

Downloaded the drivers and still don't work.

When I click on the speaker icon the message that appears is " No audio devices are installed"

Expert:  Richard replied 2 years ago.
ok, then windows is completely corrupted or the audio card has failed.
We will have to do a reinstall of windows in order to confirm which.
First, backup all data off the computer as this will delete all your data and programs and return the computer to new (programs you will need to reinstall again).
Then power off the computer.
Then turn it on and keep tapping F11 until you get to the recovery manager.
Follow the onscreen steps and perform a Factory Restore which returns the computer to new.
Let this complete and when it has, check if the audio is now functioning.
Let me know the results please
