With it powered on, push the lens in to see if this can get the drive motor unstuck and get the camera working again.
Let me know the results please

Did the Lens retract at all John?
Customer: replied 2 years ago.
About 7mm but I was pushing hard and wouldn't go any further

Thanks John
It is the drive motor that has faulted. Else it would have moved and retracted
I am really sorry about this and you are going to have to return the unit to have it replaced. It will be covered by the warranty if this has not expired, and the replacement will be done at no cost to you.
I am really sorry about this, and if you have problems, or would like any additional information or assistance, please do not hesitate to let me know.
And if you can take a second to rate my service, that would be greatly appreciated.

I do not think it is under warranty it was a present who could repair it
Expert:  Richard replied 2 years ago.
Its not worth it John for this camera. You only get a limited warranty and the repair would exceed the value of the camera. I would advise to look at purchasing a replacement.
If you are really keen on repairing it though, then any camera repair store could do this. If you tell me your location I can find one near you.
