Hi,
I have a Sony Bravia - KDL 40S5500 using an outside aerial. Over the last few weeks I have found that I have had to retune my programmes but have now a situation where auto tune can find no programmes and there are none stored. Can you suggest anything please.

Hello, please tell me what all is connected with the TV and have you already checked the connections at the back

Sony DVD and NOW tv box. Yes have checked connections.

If the DVD and Box are working fine then the problem is with the aerial connection, try to connect wire with a different set...if it still wont work then try replacing the cable... if it works with other tv set then the problem is with the aerial connector in your tv ... let me know how it goes

Have tried another tv and this did not work either. Checked the cables and found that the cable from the aerial seemed to be fine but after taking the coaxial connection off, the outer copper wiring had eroded away and clearly was not making a good negative connection. Will arrange for the cable to be replaced and hopefully this will be the answer. I will advise.
