I have just purchased a Samsung TV model UE40JU6500K. I can

Resolved Question:

I have just purchased a Samsung TV model UE40JU6500K. I can stream video clips form my PC (Windows 7) to the TV but not photos. All the folders and the individual photos show up but the photos all have a standard icon ( a sort of landscape) but not the image itself.
When clicking on the icon get the message 'Please check your network connection' but this surely must be OK to download video clips and the photo folders.
Any suggestions?

No. I have separate Pictures and Videos folders in E:/Users/Roger

Could you try to copy one of the photos over to the video folder to see if it shows on your TV ok? It might be something with the way the photos folder is being communicated to the TV

I have tried copying to the video folder and also to a couple of sub-folders but the JPG does not show on the TV at all either as an image or as a generic icon.

Are you using the built in Samsung software to view the photos/videos?

Could you describe the process you used to set up the video sharing? Reason I need to know is there are a few different ways to connect and the root issue would depend on how your configuration is

I have between trying to sort this so many times I am not sure I can remember. Also it is now very late here in the UK! Are you able to set out briefly what I should have done and I will try that tomorrow morning and reconnect if I still need to.Thanks for your attempts at helping.Roger

Sorry to be slow getting back to you - a busy day yesterday.
No luck I am afraid but I have noticed that on the media streaming options page (screen shot attached) the TV option is not checked and I can find no way of checking it. Is this relevant?

No problem. It is allowed, if you are referring to that green icon that does not mean it's checked thats just part of that other icons image
