its a smart tv where do I find out the model please bear with me Im in my 80's not to sure if I can find it

And do you mean a Samsung Smart TV?

Press the Smart Hub button on your remote
Select Netflix.
Select Yes on the Are you a member of Netflix? screen.
If you are not yet a member, set up your membership.
Enter your Netflix email address and password.
Select Sign In.

I summerised it here, does this help?
1. access the Smart Hub on your TV and then launch Samsung Apps.
2. Select Categories and then select Video.
3. Locate and then select the Netflix app.

ok strange, but can you go to Settings, Service Manager, Reset and reset the TV
Once done, setup the TV again and it should then be present.

I know its too hard, but you have to do this Mary and follow the steps on the link I gave

But its the only way to get it back on.

you then see your Firmware at the bottom.
Save this file to your computer please.
And yes, you may want to have your daughter do this, that is no issue.

So after downloading it, double click the file, run it and read carefully what is on the screen as it is going to tell you where it downloads it to

I clicked save and then run all that came up was where it was being saved desktop prepare usb memory, please check firmware name before upgrading, extraction progress, extraction, cancel that's all

yes, so it has been saved to the Desktop which is what I have been asking you to note.
The problem Maria is the next steps are going to be more difficult and if you get this wrong, your TV will stop working completely.
I am hesitant about you doing this.
