Resolved Question:

I have a Panasonic KX-TGH220E 3 x units and the sound when receiving calls is really quiet and distant. I have tried max volume etc but still sounds as though the caller is whispering. If there is any background noise its almost impossible. I think it is the same for the caller as they also say they find it difficult to hear me.
Bought phones as they were well recommended for their sound quality?
Is there anything I can do to improve this as it driving me nuts.

As this occurred from the start Suzy with the units?
And what are they connecting to? Directly to a phone line or a phone system?
Customer: replied 1 year ago.

These units have always sounded quiet - from the start I have been dissapointed as I bought them as they had good reviews in this area

The main base is plugged into a BT connection and wall socket - the other 2 are in base units attached to electric supply only.

Ok, they are generally very good Suzy.
If you connect another type of phone, do you get the same problem?
Customer: replied 1 year ago.

Apparently my line is OK

Expert:  Richard replied 1 year ago.
ok, It can then be the actual socket or main cable to the socket.
Are you able to try another cable to the socket Suzy to test?
