I have a Panasonic Viera TV which has worked fine with sky

Resolved Question:

Hi I have a Panasonic Viera TV which has worked fine with sky for years. Suddenly it has developed a picture size problem. Some adverts have bars at the top and bottom and programs have bars at the left and right. How do I get my full screen back?

This is not an answer so do not rate it.- Can you please get me the model number written on back of TV?- Have you tried to unplug TV and cable box power cords from wall outlet for 10 minutes to reset, replug back in and check?If not yet, can you try it now and reply back with the result?Thanks.

Hi I tried that but not for ten mins. I will try again. The model no is TX-L42E3B the serial no is NB-1630702. My wife also has amazon prime and it came up with just a tiny pic in the middle last night. Cheers Paul

I have also checked the settings on both sky and on the tv and they are both at 16.9. The settings have not been changed since it was originally working fine for over 2 years. I have noticed the size of my sky go pic on the iPad has also changed. Is this something that helps? Paul

Thanks Paul for the info.Please try to restore TV to default factory settings to see if it helps, press Menu on TV remote then select Setup then System Menu and select Shipping Condition and press OK. Unplug TV power cord from wall socket for 5 minutes, replug back in and turn the TV On. Auto setup screen will come up, go through it to finish it and check picture size.If it doesn't help then go to following Panasonic link and download TV firmware upgrade file and follow the instructions mentioned on Panasonic page or successful upgrade..http://av.jpn.support.panasonic.com/support/global/cs/tv/download/fw/europe/down_eu10.htmlPlease reply back with the result and if problem resolved then a positive rating to answer would be highly appreciated.Thanks.

Hi done all of that and still not worked. Do you think it's a sky issue? Why do you think my ipad had also changed pic size? Cheers Paul

It could be Sky signal issue and we can confirm it by connecting another video device/source to TV such as DVD player to see if TV displays normal picture of DVD playback?If so then need to contact Sky service provider to get the problem resolved.Please reply back the result of DVD playback test.

Paul, have you tried to unplug TV and Sky box power cords from power socket for 5 minutes to reset, replug back in and let reboot Sky box and check if it helps to get normal picture on TV?

OK, since TV shows normal picture on DVD that means TV itself is OK and problem is within Sky box (video source) so please contact Sky service provider and ask them to swap the Sky box which will help to resolve the issue.I trust my input will help you out.
